Wolves are nearing the Netherlands
As the population of wolves grow in the east of Germany and the south of France, the chances of young-adult wolves wandering towards the Netherlands grow. Within the project “Wolves in the Netherlands” several parties in the Netherlands co-operate to make recent and scientifically sound information on wolves publicly available and to prepare the Netherlands for the expected return of wolves to our country. Re-introduction is not necessary. We are convinced that wolves are capable of reaching the Netherlands by themselves. Probably even sooner than most people expect. Next couple of years we’ll work on creating support for wolves. We do this for example by distinguishing myths and fairytales from the truth and by communicating how farmers can protect their livestock. We hope to achieve not only a warm welcome for the wolves within our nature, but also within the hearts and minds of the people in the Netherlands.
